Okay, I tried to reinstall window xp into my computer, during the formatting HD it stopped at 7%. does anyone know why that is?

this system is having issued when starting the system. when i did the checkdisk a lot of the files was unreadable.

any help would appreciated. thanks

I'd say, get over to your HDD manufacturers web site and download their diagnostic utilities. That drive might be driving south... :(

now the system cant even dectect the HD...knowingly that it is correctly plugged in
