I have a d845bg intel motherboard w a intel 2A processor.I'm using a 450 watt power supply.I connected these components to 2 hard disk(1 IDE,1 scuzzy).I attempted to power up but got no power except for a little bulb next to the power connector(CPU fan did not spin,HD did not boot, power supply did not spin).I tested the power supply and found that it worked. I removed the motherboard from the case and connected the graphics card and memory and of course the power supply(no HDs).The motherboard light illuminated, the graphics card fans were activated and the power supply started but no CPU power. welcome frresh,
I am not sure what you mean by "intel 2A processor", none of the P2 series (66MHz FSB, 100MHz FSB or Xenion) will work with anything above the 840 chipset.
I could be wrong(please correct me if I am) but that mobo/chipset specs are for a P4 CPU. This is probably why your CPU wont "fire" up.
hope this helps

I believe by "2A", the person means the 2.0aGHz P4 processor.
Check to make sure the Clear CMOS jumper is not in the Clear position.
Can you check with another processor? If the jumpers are all set correctly, then I would lean towards a bad processor.
Good luck and post back with your progress.
EDIT: I assume that the motherboard has the extra P4 12volt connector? Is so, do you have it hooked up?
