Ok I just bought a new video card game today at Circuit City. When I went in and asked me about getting one they gave me all this information and stuff and told I had to but all kinds of stuff. So I bought an Instant VideoMPX, then I was told that I would need an 1394 PCI Card, and I also bought a FireWire AV cord.
I'm a real big noob on all this so Im not sure I really need all this because all I want to do is record video of me playing a video game and puting it on my computer. So could someone please tell me if I need all this stuff and if not tell me what I need and how its going to work.

Do you mean you want to play on a console and record it to your computer? Or you want to record your computer game as you play it? It's not too clear by your description. Also, please post your system's specs.
