I have a home built PC. Gigabyte motherboard model # GA-7IXE4 with an AMD Athlon 1.4GHz processor. 1 128meg stick of ram. soundblaster live video card, diamond video card. 3com ethernet card,15gig maxtor hdd, sony burner and a samsung cdrom, generic floppy. The case is from Future Power, model # CS-FPPAL300. All running on Windows XP.
The problem that im having is that the machine wont power down correctly. Through the Windows shutdown it will go as far as to shut down the operating system but the system is still being provided power. The processor fan stays on, the fan on the video card stays on and there is still power going to the monitor b/c the led stays a solid green. There has been 2 instances when I shut down that the "It is now safe to shut down your machine" has been given, I press the power button on the case and it shuts down perfectly? But that has only happened twice out of atleast 50 shutdowns.
Any suggestions or clues would be greatly appreciated.
