Other one?

Are trying to hook two at once? Are the jumpers set accordingly? did this ever work in the past? Did you try just the 'other' one?

Need more history and details.

Both of them work CD-RW and DVD
i have them both plugged in now but it's not showing up
in my computer or in Computer Management/Disk Management
before i was using the dvd now i'm using the cd-rw cuz i switched around the cords and tryed them both by themselves and they both work but not together

First, set the jumpers on the backs of the drives to master on whichever one is on the end of the ide cable and the other one to slave. Alternately you could try both on cable select if there is such an option.

Then check BIOS to see if they are recognized and the particular ide device is enabled.

If you still have problems we can dig further to check for things like inadequate PSU that is just going over the edge when you attach too many devices and other possibilities.

for both of them the jumpers are set to [:]:::
how do you set them to slave or master with the jumpers?
and in bios wher do i go to see if they are enabled?

Chances are, if the setting looks the same and they are of differrent manufacturers, the setting may not be right.

Your pictoral of the jumper is nice. Look in Core Hardware for a sticky post (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=25502) of one of our moderators here. It may help guide your way a bit.

Edit:
Maybe a pic (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.khypermediaco.com/images/master_jumper_setting.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.khypermediaco.com/faq_drive.html&h=174&w=251&sz=8&tbnid=wJZsXGo0flsJ:&tbnh=73&tbnw=105&start=5&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dslave%2Bjumper%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa %3DG) is worth more words...
