I have windowsXP. I tried to install a DVD Express but the driver was not Microsoft compatible so I uninstalled. Ever since them I have been unable to write or copy to any of my drives(CD, DVD and the 3 1/2 floppy). I have tried every thing from system restore(doesn't go back far enough, I guess) to restore files to registry lookup. Everything worked fine before the DVD Express install and uninstall. The device manager shows all drives are working properly. Help!

Reinstall and uninstall DVD Express again, and make sure to use 'Add/Remove Programs' to ununstall it.

When you say that the drivers were no Microsoft compatable do you mean that they were not Windows compatable or do you mean that the message recieved was warning you that the drivers had not been signed off by MS? (WHQL drivers)

What was the exact messag eoyu recieved about the drivers?

The DVD Express didn't work when I installed. I uninstalled it using the DVD express uninstall. Then I returned the DVD Express. The message I got was that the driver was not signed by Microsoft and it could cause problems. I do not remember the exact phrase. I did not try to write or copy any thing to a disk or the 3 1/2 for a while after that. When I did try is when I noticed that I could not write to any of my drives. That's why I felt like it had something to do with my installing and uninstalling the DVD Express. I thought maybe I had accidentally erased a major file that affected the write capapilities on all my drives.
