hello folks,i wrote a couple weeks ago concerning dll.errors i was receiving from my windows 98 os.i thought i fixed the problem, only now it's back(like a virus)everytime i boot up or shut down.
the problem originaly started when i simply upgraded my winamp.
i reinstalled windows 98se over my current version and that seemed to do the trick."NOT"
last night i upgraded a pc game (tiger woods golf) and now they (dll.errors)are back with a vengance.
why is it everytime i upgrade some software my windows 98 throws a fit?
if it helps,i have an amd athlon 1ghz system with 128meg ram,15g hd,tnt2 video card,on an american megatrends motherboard.
oh and hardly anything is running in the backround at all times, and no hardware conflicts that i could find.
any replied thoughts will be warmly apreciated.

Which .dll errors are you getting?
You might want to go here and see if you can trouble shoot the error you are getting. http://service4.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/pfdocs/1999072613191609

Food for thought.
Sometimes we spend more time and effort on trying to find a fix for a problem than we would by backing up, reformatting, and reinstalling.

You are probably right ski and most pragmatic. But .. LOL .. has one learnt anything. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I suppose it just depends how much one likes crosswords and the like! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

This is true but it takes the fun out of it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif Not only that, that is a phone tecks way of dealing with a problem and not the solution. It's the easy way out and yes sometimes it is better to just re-format but like paul says "ya ain't learnt nutten" http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif And Krebby when you reinstalled 98 all you succeded in doing is leaving the same problem to come back and haunt you again.
