My motherboard broke so I got a new mobo and installed it. The new motherboard didn't help though. The computer still wouldn't turn on. Then I got a new processor and now the computer can work but it crashes at the most unexplainable times. Sometimes it will work all day without incident but whenever I try to play Rome: Total War it crashes. Even really old games like Colonization (released in 96) cause it to crash. Other times it will crash just when I'm surf the web with Opera or downloading something. My brother knows some about computers but he can't find what's wrong. We've tried changing the power source and have downloaded all the drivers.

The computer isn't overheating and as I said we tried changing the power source without and luck. I'd really like to get my computer working again but I can't contemplate what could be wrong with it.

Sounds like your RAM is unstable. Do you have any other RAM that you can put in your computer to test if that is the problem?

O and welcome to PC GUIDE FORUMS!!!

You got it backwards.

When replacing mobo's, the os needs to be 'corrected' as to what it sees for 'hardware'. Usually, a reinstall of the os is best advice.

Damn it, that should have been obvious.... anyways, do what Ted says, reinstall OS, and have happy computing (hopefully!)
