Bought my self a new computer in bits. AMD 1800+ with recommend parts for all bits that I could. It has a soltek SL-75DRV4 motherboard and a 400W power supply.

put it all together and ran nicely (reconising all the parts) but decided not to install windows 2000 that night (was tired). Next morning the system does nothing. It will power up all the fans and lights on the motherboard but there is nothing put out onto the display and no system beeps. Removed all the drives and still nothing. Even removed the ram and the same thing occures (no beeps).
Any hints or guesses at what is dead?
Thanks

Welcome Midge

Here's a Link to a BBS for Soltek that may help you out.

annother slightly variation.

have tried it with different power supplies with nothering in the board except ram and cpu(with fan) and the system powers up for a few seconds (about 30) then switches the power off. The only difference with these supplies is that there is not on off switch on the supply and they are old and with less power output (230 W roughly).

any ideas?

Worth looking at Motherboard manual to see if there is a jumper to set the board active, and maybe worth looking at either moving the video card to another slot or re-seating it. When you powered up did you enter the bios to check everyhing? Maybe you need to change a setting?

You could check as a last resort the motherboard installation itself, it probably aint nothing to do with it, but worth checking all the options.

sorry cant be more specific, good luck anyway
