While working on a Computer(Modem problem)I noticed that the sys had two modems installed one was the audio modem riser type the other just a regular PCI type. I checked device manager which showed both modems and both modems checked out OK from the control panal>modems>more info. I continued on and set up configured the regular modem and connected to the internet.Works great http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif. Sooooooo I decided I diden't need the audio modem riser card installed so I removed it and when I rebooted my mouse froze at boot. The mouse is a PS-2. So I reinstalled the audio modem riser and my mouse is back. I disabled it in device manager and everything works OK. Just wondering why I lost my mouse.
Thanks

Hey TripleJ,
You might want to start in safe mode, remove that modem in DM, don't restart-shutdown, then physically remove the modem, restart normaly and see how it goes.
Good luck http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif

After you remove the unwanted modem from device manager
Shut the system down. .. Unplug the power supply.. press the power button on the front of the case ( Drains the power in the M/B capacitors) .. Remove the modem.
Plug the power supply back and boot up to the system / bios screen.
Enter the Bios setup and change the (Reset Configuration Data) to Yes
Save and exit. It will reboot the system.
Allow the system to boot.
Windows should adjust to the changes
