Did you just install your OS? or upgrade from 95?
If the cd is not being recognised at boot First make sure the cable is connected properly. Check the autoexec to see if the drivers are being loaded there or in System.ini . Do an F8 boot and choose the one line at a time option. If there are any errors doing this the drivers could be missing or corrupt and should be reinstalled. The master slave jumpers could be off if both drives are on the same cable. The power connection could be loose. Check Device Manager for a System conflict. All right go here and take a look see.

yea i wanna do my upgrading on my os then i boot into my ms-dos prompt with my windows 98 boot diskette then suddenly it show me the message saying missing device driver...the power connection is attach and the master and slave i change it still it is not working at all.
i want to reinstall the device driver but i don't know where to get/download the driver and where to run it in ms-dos prompt http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/confused.gif
Then in the end i format the harddisk hoping it can detect the cd-rom but the problem still insist. by the way u mention about the autoexec file..what should i do to it edit it??
hope to hear from you soon.... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
