I tried to set the works laptop with win2000, up with the hp2000 laserjet printer both new.

I used the USB option, win2000 found new hardware and asked for driver, which i inserted....then it sort of set-up and eventually printed test page, but flashed with a blue screen that vanished after 2 seconds...but it started to say something like "plug n play error".
It would then re-boot the laptop, re-pickup the printer and then re-boot.

Tried safemode.....no joy. the printer is there but says no drivers loaded, when i try to re-load the drivers..it says they are already installed.

Tried unistalling and re-setting up...still same prob.

I have no knowledge of win2000, should i try the parallel lead set-up? I would rather do it the usb way...any ideas?

Dazman,i recommend u try to remove ur printer and all it driver first and let your computer detect your printer( when booting into ur windows) once detect then dun install ur driver first. then once u r inside ur windows u do the normal driver installation. Go to my computer properties then device manager then update driver and see if it work.....if it insist then why dun u try it on ur frenz or ur neighbour desktop or laptop.. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
