View Full Version : java console probs please help...........
hi,i have been having problems accessing sites that need java and keep getting "java corrupt" messages, i have looked in the programs and under java heading and the only thing that is there is a javalog and this is showing blank, i have today downloaded virtual machine and installed it but i still get prompted by windows that i need to have vm to access the site and would i like to download it, its getting annoying now because i don,t know what to do,IE tells me that i have the vm so where has it gone! i am opperating with windows 95 with IE 5.5 and i have been on sites that require java many times before, i thought about trying a system restore and take it back to before the probs started but can,t find that either in the system tools is there anyone who might be able to help please?
Open your browser, click Tools/Internet Options/Security, highlight the Internet icon, click Custom Level and make sure that Java Permissions is enabled.
If that's ok, go to Start/Run, type msinfo32, click OK, click Tools/Internet Explorer Repair Tool/Repair IE/OK. If System Information does not show up after typing msinfo32 and clicking OK, then go to Find/Files or Folders, type msinfo32.exe in the Named box, select your hard drive(C, etc.) in the Look In box, click Find Now.
If that does not work, then uninstall and reinstall IE.
Thanks for the reply ski , i don,t know much about comps but seemed to have resolved the prob at the moment, don,t know if i did correct but i disabled the java vm and downloaded java2 from sun and hey presto working ok now and i can even understand the chat(it was in a funny script) i will take note of what you said for future reference thanks alot
