I entered safe mode recently to check out some problems after an upgrade from 95 to 98SE, pentium II, award BIOS. Since then, when I reboot via ctrl + alt + del, or Start / shut down / restart, I don't get a memory test during POST. If I enter bios setup, whether I make any changes or not, and then exit, the memory test runs as normal. If I turn off the computer then restart it the memory test runs as normal. Either way the boot up seems OK, I would just like to restore the memory test during POST.

It is normal for there to be no mem test for a soft reset...<ctrl><alt><del>.
