I have recently bought separate parts for a system I am putting together myself. I put them together and I am trying to put an OS on the HDD. It seems that every time I try to install anything, it freezes and reboots somewhere along the installation process.

I am using an AMD Athlon XP 1700+ CPU, Soltek SL-75DRV M/B, Kingston 256MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM, and an Nvidia TNT2 M64 display adapter.

I am thinking it is the memory as it says it is running at 3.3V in the BIOS, while it is set at 1.5V on the jumpers on the M/B.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Althalus....

Please check the jumper settings closely on the Mboard. The
jumper for Memory Voltage Select needs to be set at 2.5V (default).
As 2.5V is correct for DDR.

The jumper for AGP Voltage Select needs to be set at 1.5V (default).

Best to leave BIOS settings at default until after an O/S is installed
and everything is running smoothly.

Luck.
