Right click My Computer then click Properties. Click the Performance tab and see if it has a white box in the middle stating that some or all of your drives are running in MS-DOS Compatibility Mode. Let us know the results, if it is we can provide links to good troubleshooting sites, but there's no reason to confuse you more at the moment... When it says that in the white box what can I do to fix this? When I start in safe mode it says that as well!!
OK, acouple of things first...
1. Have you installed the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard?
2. Are you trying to use DOS drivers for your CD drive?
