I have a MSI K7N2 Delta motherboard and a AMD Athlon MP 1500 CPU. Is the MP 1500 compatible with the MSI motherboard or will I have to get a Athlon XP processor? If it is compatible, what do I have to do to get them to work?

Thanks in advance for your help.....

That mobo will work fine with an AthlonMP 1500+. The MP 1500+ uses an older core revision, so no extra work should be required (like a BIOS update). Why, are you having problems?

Yes, nothing is appearing on the screen.

Specs:
Athlon MP 1500
MSI k7n2 Delta
256 MB (PC2700)
nVida 4400 64MB graphics (AGP)
30 GB HD
CD-ROM

The machine turns on and the CPU fan is working. The power light is on, the HD indicator is working and the device lights blink on startup. But nothing comes up on the screen. The video is fairly new, it was robbed from a working system. The memory is new as is the mobo. The light on the monitor goes green for a second and then goes yellow, like it is not receiving. I will try unplugging all devices (HD, floppy, CD-ROM) to see if one those devices is causing the problem.

Well, I pulled everything but the memory, video card and CPU. Still a no go! There is no display on the screen at all. The light on the monitor is yellow not good ol' green. What is next? I'm assuming the MP 1500 and the MSI mobo are not compatible....they just don't get along... I think I might have a 900 AMD processor. I will give it a try.

There shouldn't be any reason that MP 1500+ won't work, but at this point it's looking like a possiblity. Perhaps the BIOS just wasn't designed to handle the MP line. Go ahead and try that old 900MHz CPU you have laying around. If it works, we have our answer...
