The fan on the GeForce 2 GTS Pro that came with my Gateway became very noisy after a year or so. So, I sent it back for a new one. Same thing happened, only this time within a week. Again, I sent it back, same story in two weeks. Its like the fan isn't straight in there or something, and its very sporadic at times (the noise)? It can be very loud. Any idea why this is happening (expecially with new cards being sent to me)? Should I just got out and get a different fan to attatch?

--> Well, this should probably be in periph trouble shooting. Oops http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif.

BTW, if anyone can reccomend a fan that would be great.

They probably have a batch of defective fans. The chipset fan for my ASUS MB began making noise...checking the ASUS FORUM there were numerous threads noting a similar problem. When I reported to Techsupport I was issued a "new" fan....same make and model, as your probably were also from Gateway.

My difficulty in providing instructions to alter your chipset fan is that it sounds like you are still under a Gateway warranty. Using anything but their proprietary components could possibly void your warranty.

I would suggest "hammering" tech support with the problem and ask them for a solution.
