Check device manager, no question mark on it, uninstall, restart computer, computer see new hardware, reinstall the driver.

You need to install a dvd player software to see and play dvd's.

Burner programs such as NERO have their own players
(NERO Vision for example) and there is also stand alone softwares such as WinDVD which has many versions. I have version 3 or 4, I'm not sure which.

Using a dvd-rom without any viewing software is like having a large capacity cd-rom. You can use it for anything you would a cd-rom.

There's some free players but I have not tried any so I cannot recommend any of the ones found in a Google search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=free+dvd+software&btnG=Google+Search).

Thank FTT, I have interVideo WinDVD 4 and Windows Media player already install in my computer when I bought it, I never used Nero before but I do have it in my computer too.

Last time I used my DVD-ram was in Jan. 2005, DVD-ram was fine then, I don't know why it not working now, any suggestion what I need to try next.
