Need help finding information on a motherboard with this written on it "Intel PCIset SB82437FX66 L605259 SZ999
The computer (a HP pavillion- from 1997) will come on and nothing else and I am trying to find the schematics for this board. Intel says it doesn't recognize it as one of theirs.
Thanks,

Rick, Thanks for the tip...unfortunately I cannot get to the BIOS on that computer since the computer will not come on...it only powers up and will not display anything on the monitor...just says "...to insert readable media into appropriate drive"....I let my 13 yr old son "play" with it and a couple other spare computers that I have (unfortunately, this one is the one that his grandmother was using, so now I have to fix it for her) so that he could learn more about the insides.

twires,

Well, you got me on this one...so I figured I'd better ask for an explanation. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif will not display anything on the monitor...just says "...to insert readable media into appropriate drive"....

If nothing is displayed on the monitor...how can you read regarding inserting readable media? http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

How have you entered the BIOS in the past?

You said HP Pavilion....guess what, it is a proprietary board and HP does not release that info. That is one reason why Intel doesn't recognise it, another is that most HP boards are built by companies like ASUS....

To get into an HP BIOS it is usually <F1>....

to reset an HP BIOS blind the sequence is <F1>, wait a few seconds <F5>, <F10>, <enter>......that should reset the factory defaults for the BIOS.
