when i boot my pc it asks for my password(which i know) and then displays invalid system disc , replace the disc and press any key. there is no disc in the pc... also i have tried to disable the user password but i am not able to do this. can someone please help ??
Which password, BIOS or Windows?
Can you get into BIOS?
If you can set your drives to autodetect.
Getting the drive manufacturer's diagnostics would be a pretty good idea...you may be looking at a hard drive problem.
Did you make an emergency repair disk for your virus scanner?
If so also run that.

The error "nonsystem disk" suggests that the machine is trying to boot from a floppy. What is the boot order set in BIOS? If it is A: C: try changing it to C: A:. If it already that, then it looks like a HD fault. Try booting from a boot floppy, and see if you can then read the hard drive from a DOS prompt.
