I am trying to make a Linux Router.... I got a old 486 with AMI BIOS. It had Win95 and I formated it with a *nix boot disk... No problem yet, then I go and select the source media and it never found the CD-ROM... I check the CD-ROM is not hooked up, so I remove the 5 1/4 floppy to make the ide cable fit to the CD-ROM. I go and try to boot the computer now and it gives me a "Diskette Boot Failure".. I have tried different boot disk but it stays the same it looks like it does not try to read the disk after the boot...

Any idea?

It is possible that you don't have the drive cable reconnected properly...double-check it. You can also try another cable...
