View Full Version : Minimum hardware to see bios?
What are the minimum hardware requirements to see my bios, card has no on board video or sound.
In most cases.
Mother board. Power supply (proper size) video card /monitor, keyboard and 1 floppy drive.
The absoulte minimum would be a video card (of some sort), the CPU (some boards won't do anything at all, others will spout all sorts of errors), and some memory (some boards will let you into the BIOS without any but many will just give an error and stop)....of course you will need a keyboard hooed up too.
Drives, audio, mice and all the rest are not needed, although some boards/BIos combos will protest without certain items they should still let you into the BIOS setup (unless you are dealing with an older Compaq that has the setup program on the hard drive...)
