hello all, i recently installed my new video card.

It's a nvidia geforce 5200 128mb, my old card was the one that came with the pc years and years ago.

I got the new vid/ card from my brother and he didnt have the CD any more so i went to nvidia for the drivers and got the latest up to date drivers and install software.

Now my screen is all blurry, i can still read evrything but its just blurry enough to hurt my eyes and gimme a headache.

pictures seem to be fine it mostly just the text.

The system is a
pIII @ 500mhz
512 mb ram
XP pro SP1
the CARD is AGP

The last card i ahd in there was old and left lines where ever stuff was on the monitor, but it wasnt the slightest bit blurry.

The monitor is an HP pavillion MX75

there isnt a option for focus or anything in the setup OSD of the monitor nor is there any knobs for it.

the resolution im set @ is 1024X768 and the refresh is 60hz

what should i do?

Ive tried to reinstall the drivers but it stays the same, ive tried to wiggle the canle and its the same. Ive tired to unpulg the cable and the card to make sure they are seated propely. but nothing.

thanks in advance

Do you have a second monitor you can use to test the video card? Or maybe a second video card? Test all outcomes and let us know what happens.

Its the refresh rate. Set it to higher than 60. Set it to highest available for that resolution.
You can change the resolution from display properties.
Click the "Advanced" button, click the "Monitor" tab and select the highest value, make sure "Hide modes this monitor cannot display" is ticked.
Apply and then OK.

You can also achieve the same from the "Adapter" tab.

If the text is still blurry, font antialiasing may have been turned off.

Post back.
