hello there,
i try to fix my pc, but i have no luck.
My system start beeping. (random)First i hear 1 beep... after half hour it can be the constant beeping. I tried already lots of things but cannot figure out the problem. A new bios version did not seem to work, but i have to say... actually i have no clue whatsover to adjust in a bios..
So there can be a problem in the bios setting that i do not see...;-))
or more..;-((
the beeping gets on my nerves by now.. ;-(((
What to do...??

extra info:
also a problem occured earlier:
-beeping--- and than my system locked.(mouse lock) only a hardboot resolved it--> now thats gone, no locking
-than there was somthing in the case that stopped--> system locked (no mouse movement) then after 5 secs 'it' restarted and i could work again(no booting nessesary)
-after the constant beeping problems and the locking:
i placed a new 2 hd with it.. (for data-backup)
and i placed a fan under the harddrives...
this seemed to have no affect on the beeping whatsoever..
my asus probe prog -->
monitor temp:
CPU 0 - n/a
MB 27C/80F -OK
CPU fan 6958- OK
Chassis fan 2721 -OK
(power fan 0--monitor paused--> this thing was removed from under the hd last year, i believe)
fysical mem. usage varies from 94-99% 130388K (????????) (i removed the second 133pc dimm last night for a check..!, i did not put it back yet)

Pull the case off and run an external fan blowing on the computer.
If that stops the beeping, then you need extra fans, or possibly your system needs a good internal cleaning.

three days went by ... only three beeps heard.
Today beeping all over again.. started from booting...
The case is open. Temp is low.
There are 3 fans + the proces/fan.
I do get messages on booting:
He does not recognize harddisk... but by sec time booting again he does.
By now i'm completly frustrated.... what the .... can i do about this... ?
;-((
I really don't know.
Maybe the bios has lots of wrong values.. but i know nothing of bios-settings.
Sometimes the beeping changes in a "fire- alarm" sound.... or something like a ambulance-alarm...

If you flashed the Bios.
After you ran the flash program Did you go into the Bios Setup and use the Load Defaults?
This needs to be done to allow the system to Load any and all changes into memory.
Set your Drives at Auto.
Then save the changes and exit.
The constant Beep is normally a sign of Memory error.
Power down the system completely.
Unplug the power cord, then press the power button.
Remove ..Then reseat the memory (1) dimm at a time.
Plug everything back in and boot up.

well now it is much better...
new power... new cooler for cpu...
new battery..
no strange messages, bios seems oke..!
BUT.....
still sometimes little beeps
my asus probe program, lets me see there is a problem with the powerfan.
It seems to stops sometimes and then starts again...
up and stops.. on and on... actually it does not work like it should.!
What can be the problem with this one..?

Try resetting the alarm values for ASUS probe, they may be too low...
If your temps are in the mid 40s and your alarm is set around 50 then you could be having a problem with the probe trying to get the thing cooled off.

Hi,
well it's not about temp. i think.
The monitor values are like this:
Temp:
CPU no monitoring
MB is 25/77
Fans:
CPU FAN treshold 2200
and mess. 3300-5200 (varies.. not a flat-line or whatsover, very vividly line)Sometimes even with 9000 peeks
Power FAN treshold 1600
and mess. '0' to 3300 and this one keeps popping UP! when '0' value
Chassis FAN treshold 2200
and mess. 2400
The power fan keeps blinking at 0 value and then starts again... 2700 and so on...
Is this normal..??
The first problem .
Your probe program is not monitoring the CPU Temp..
It should be shown. if Not then you have a Heat probe Problem.
** In the Bios you have a System health and or Temperature Monitor**
Enter the bios and make sure it is enabled and check the correct temps reported .
if it’s within the normal temperature range then you can look for other reasons for warning beeps.
You should also make sure the other monitor settings are correct. (Fan and temps)
Second problem. Asus probe program is Not accurate ,
The program checks for fan speed and temps at a predefined interval ( every 5 seconds)
When it does it will read the fan as stopped (sounding an alarm) even when the fan is working.
The thing to do is check the CPU fan and the heat sink for temperature ..
If it feels to hot . Clean out any dust blocking the air flow.
Next thing to do is Replace the Asus probe Program with something else that does work.
Mother Board Monitor is a good replacement , (MBM5 )
