Hey guyz, I need your help on this. I've jsut recently put together a rig made up of these specs:
Asus A8N-Deluxe SLI mobo
3500-AMD Venice
1gig of Corsair ram
200gig HDD Maxtor
450w PSU

Down to business, when I first powered up my rig, nothing happen; nothing seemed to be getting power, so after a few more tries and reconnecting everything my fans started to work. But the pc didn't boot, can't get to bios and monitor is blank........... :( My HDD, Floppy or DVD drives it seemed like they didn't want to come on. Not sure what it is, I tried a jumper test, my mobo seemed to be working and getting power. But I have a feelig that something might have burned or shortcircuited; how can you tell if that happenend? Well I hope nothing did, but i'm stumped and need some help.
Thx in advanced. :D

The first thing I would try is a minimal boot with CPU,RAM and the motherboard outside of the case on a non conductive surface

And, by the way:

With a barebones boot as classic suggested, you are attempting to get the troubleshooting variables down to a few as possible in an attempt to isolate the problem.

Barebones, with nothing but the essentials, you should get a POST beep (power on self test) successful...

Do you have the case speaker hooked up...do you hear anything?
