Hi everybody!

I have an Athlon 1,4 Ghz, my cooler is running at 5500 rpm bit, Vcore 1.77, +5V 4.98, 3,3V 3.46v, +12V 12.70v;

My system is running normally between 5 and 10 percent cpu power but i have always about 75 °C. If i rip a Dvd for example, the temperature is going above 80 and the computer is freezing. This is really to hot, but i donīt know, what the problem is. Perhaps something is wrong with the cooling device. Please tell me your opinion.

It is definitely TOO HOT..

If this is a new system or new build .
The heatsink may not be mounted correctly .
The thermal paste or tape is not creating the correct bond.
The air flow may be blocked.

Where are you getting your temp reading from?
The Bios is the best place to obtain a correct reading.

If it is covered by a warranty.
Get it fixed by the dealer..

I put my computer together myself. I think you are right that there is a problem with the thermal paste ...
The cooling rips are very hot and the air which comes out from the cooler isnīt very hot ...

Take the cover off the side of the case and see how how much the temp. drops. That should let you know if you have an air flow problem. Make sure the fan is blowing air into the heatsink and not sucking the air through it. If everything checks out ok (paste not too thick, good seal, everything on right) you may want to go shopping for a better hs and fan.

If the heat sink came with pre-applied thermal compound, did you remove the protective cover on the compound?
