Hi to all,
Maybe someone can help me with the following problem I'm having.
One of the hinges on the display panel broke on my Inspiron 4000 laptop and I had to replace it, although the display worked perfectly. I purchased a used Inspiron 4000 that was DOA from eBay which included a full display and replaced mine with it. Now, (Ugh!) when I power it up I have no video and the machine fails the POST and powers it self down. So I figured that the display that came with the DOA unit was bad and reinstalled the original one back into the computer, but got the same results. I then attached a CRT monitor to the computer (back video port) and it boots and works perfectly.
I really don't understand what could have gone wrong or what other component I could have compromised(?). I assume (which I probably shouldn't do) that If the Video Board was compromised I would have no Video with the CRT either (?).
This is very frustrating, so if anyone has a solution or can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thank You!
