Well, I built my new PC and I've been finding some minor problems and a couple major problems. My DVD+/-RW is a Plextor (PX-712SA) SATA and it's not running correctly. Installed the SATA drivers when i installed Win XP Pro. Can anyone help me?? thanks in advance!

A Little More details would help.
Like what it is or is not doing ?
What or when does it error ?
Can you even access it ?
What software are you using with it?
Is the software updated to support the sata drive ?

Well, when i put a cd in to burn, the LED stays lit and you cant even get into it. I'm using a software Plextor gave me w/ the drive, which is Roxio CD and DVD Creator 6. So the software has to support the drive. And my motherboard came w/ a floppy for the SATA RAID Driver, which I did install when I installed XP Pro.

The SATA/RAID driver relates to Hard Drives and not to your CDRW.
Can you use the CDRW (?DVD) to read disks such that your only problem is when trying to burn onto blank media. In other words does it appear in My Computer and Device Manager?

Yes, It works fine reading CD's ... but I can not delete files from CDRW's or add them. I only recognizes them as CD's. Also, I'll be on vacation until the up coming saturday, so I wont be able to reply unless i can find a connection near me.

If you want to use your CDRWs as "large floppies" you will need to intall Packet-writing software and format the disks appropriately. Otherwise, although the whole disc can be erased and reused, they function very much the same as CDRs - though burning to them is actually slower.

I want to use them as CDRW's .... not like floppys... what I might do is reformat my PC again and not install the NVidia driver thing in .... maybe that will solve the problem. Thank's for all the help. I'll post my results

Can you delete files or add them if they are CDR's. There should be no functional difference with CDRs and CDRWs in that respect unless they are formatted for packet writing. The main functional difference between the two types of media being that when the CDs are full or closed, the CDRWs can be erased and then reused - "from scratch" so to speak.
Your specific problem
Well, when i put a cd in to burn, the LED stays lit and you cant even get into it. sounds very like it could just be bad blank media - particularly with a new DVD burner (that can read normal CDROMs) having just been installed
Its possible that your mobo doesn't support SATA opticals or might need a BIOS upgrade: see http://www.plextor.be/technicalservices/support/faq/PInstallation.asp?choice=FAQ,%20tips%20and%20trick s&language=English&printer=False#g7
