I have rinstalled win95 on clean drive. The computer is an old Dell Latitude CP.
The original win95 CD accompanying the computer says specifically "With USB support". After reinstall, the USB port is not recognized by OS. Itried "Add/remove new hardware" and also the device manager, but no luck.
Does anybody know how to resolve this problem?
Thanks....

I managed to make windows recognize the usb port. In the device manager, I see now the following:
-Standard Universal PCI to USB Host Controller
-USB Root Hub

But when I use my usb stick, windows does not reconise it! Do I need a driver for that too? Will I need a driver for every device I might want to use on this port?
I found some drivers on www.driverguide.com, can anyone tell me if any of these drivers can solve my problem? Explanations on this site are not very clear to me?
Please help...

Yes your usb memory stick needs drivers. Usually they only make them for Windows 98 but I'd try those if that's all they have.

Try going to the manufacturer's website of the memory stick for 9x drivers. Windows ME and up does not need them. In 98SE I needed to go to SanDisk for mine.
