Help, Installed 40g Seagate as Primary Slave on Primary IDE (no jumper for slave setting) Hd appears in BIOS/CMOS and can be detected but no sign of it in OS. Doesn't detect new hardware and nothing in My Computer.
What is wrong?

Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif!!!
What is the master drive set to? This may affect the primary ide cable. Also, is there anything already on this Seagwate? If it is formatted as NTFS, 98SE or any 9x os will not be able to see it.

Must be an LSD flashback! I thought I've seen this thread somewhere else... Ah, yes. I've already replied to it in the other forum on this site.

Is it a new drive and did you partition and format it?

try partition magic or some program like it to see if it can find it.
