I have a mac x86 image and I'd like to set up dual booting with it. THing is, I want to know how to convert an NTFS drive to HFS.
18.4gb partition, nothing in it.

Where did you get the image from and did it come with an installer? You shouldn't need to format a partition if you are using an image file - the question is how to write the image to the partition. Probably a Linux dd would do it but once restored I wonder how you organise booting to the partition.
The nearest I could find on a cursory bit of googling was: http://www.digg.com/apple/Installing_Mac_OS_x86_to_a_Partition
Be interested to see how you get on.

D'oh! deleted the .img's because I found .ISO's.
I don't understand what directory I say it to for DD.

... or simply do a bit of Googling (http://www.google.com/search?q=mac+x86+image)
You will need a separate HDD and an appropriate intel CPU.

Ugh. I read a lot of guides, almost all use the DD thingy. And I'm pretty sure there are wayst to install it onto a partition.
