hi perhaps you can help with this problem...
The comp turns on but nothing appears on screen, i mean it dosnt even start to boot. This happened whilst i was trying to test a hard disk, at first wouldnt read HD, even though i tried to make a full FAT32 partition, but when i run fdisk it tells me that there are no fixed disks???? But now dosnt even boot!!! Would resetting BIOS help???
thnx

Make sure the memory and video card are securely inserted.
If these are ok, then check your monitor on another system, or try another one on yours.
If the monitor checks out ok, then the problem is probably either a bad power supply(if fans and lights do not work), motherboard, CPU, memory, or video card. Swap out or have them tested.

Getting any beeps??

POST has 2 parts basic stuff up to and including Video using beeps for error code

Then rest of POST conducted using Text for error reporting

I assume you are booting with HD disonnected at this point

Have any idea if HD is any good?? - if booting with HD plugged in When power on - check P1 connector for presence of 12V(11-15V) if no voltage at all you can bet HD is prob
