Hi
I'm assuming that you are talking about a new install of XP with your sata drives.
You'll need to check the documentation with the hdd, but you normally have to hit F6 to install extra drivers for these drives when prompted by Windows (during the first stage of installation) if the drive is not automatically detected.
You can have these drivers on floppy if required.
Give us some more details about your OS, hdd manufacturer etc and we'll be better placed to help you

Deddards on track, You probably have a CD that came with the Motherboard and on it will be drivers for the sata controller. They usually have a makedisk.exe to make the disk. You could also download the drivers from your motherboard maker and do it that way. Windows needs to know how to interface with the controller that sits in the middle between the drive and the OS.
You can probably find step-by-step instructions on installing the SATA drives on the motherboard mnaufactures web site or CD ROM.

Sata controller BIOS are often separate from the main BIOS setup. Watch the initial monitor screens carefully for any references to RAID or Sata; there may be a special key to press to enter this secondary BIOS.
