Hi, I just recently got a HP Compaq Presario 2200 and when I try to turn the sound on it says that the mixers are missing. Also when I go to the Sounds and Audio Devices in the control panel it says there is no Audio device... Can someone please tell me why I can't make the sound work. There should be a audio device...

1. Unknown Device Identifier = http://tinyurl.com/bcbhn [free]
2. My Drivers 3.11 = www.zhangduo.com/driverbackup.html [free 15 day trial]

"in the control panel it says there is no Audio device"
Is there a yellow exclamation or red "X" in Device Manager?
What is the exact wording?
Are your "Sound, Video & Game Controllers" all shown [in Device Manager], but disabled?
If so, it's probably because no drivers/mixers have been installed.
The other possibility [if nothing shows in Device Manager] is that yours are PCI sound devices and your ESCD [Extended System Configuration Data] table has not been "Force Updated" to include them and so allocate resources at startup.

A. Use 1 above to detect & identify ALL your hardware.
B. Once all your drivers are installed and all's well, download and install 2 and backup all your drivers [I saved mine to a CD-RW disk using a "Packet-Writing" program ("Direct CD")].
