Hi all.
:)

I'm trying to find a new m/board, that can take a Duron, Athlon or Athlon XP CPU, is baby-ATX form-factor, and has 1 x ISA slot.

I'm trying to build a media player based on a DOS program, but I need a ISA slot for the DOS-based sound-card drivers. PCI sound cards will not talk to the application(actually, it's the other way around!), so they are out.

Can anyone give me some links?

Do you have a back-up plan?

The only reason I ask is because I just spent over an hour trying to find a mobo with that particular combination, and I came up empty. ISA just wasn't included on micro-ATX mobo's for Socket A.

I did find a few ATX mobo's with ISA, but only on the older chipsets from VIA: KT133 & KT133A. Start there if you want to spend a long time searching...

I must admit that the specs intrigued me so I started searching. After spending a considerable amount of time searching I have come to the same conclusion as saphalline. If I'm not mistaken a micro-atx board is 9.6" x 9.6" and with the specs you listed, it just doesn't seem to be there.

I think his first question says it all, do you have a backup plan?

Hi there guys!
:)

Yes, I do have a backup plan - a socket 370 with Celeron running at around 1GHz. This is a Biostar board(new) sold by isellsurplus.com - Fruss Tray Ted gave me a link to it in my other thread about a m/board that would not start.(this was a different project - seem to be having a run of boards with ISA things in them these days!)

It is a Biostar board, and has one ISA slot.
They ship internationally, and the price is quite good, so I think I'll just import one of these...

I've sent an e-mail to isellsurplus...

I'd say that a socket 370 Celeron at 1GHz should play just about any DivX/MPG file, and definetly all MP3 with no problems...

BTW: The reason I did not say this in the beginning, was that I was wondering if it was even POSSIBLE to find a faster board then the Biostar one, but it would seem not... Thank you again, for those who spent time hunting for me - i appreciate your effort/time to try to help. :) MM.

Yeah, the Celeron 1GHz should work just fine. At least for those duties. But I would recommend at least 256MB of RAM, if not 512MB. This is probably what you're thinking, too ;) but I thought I should mention it for our readers who are interested in this same thing.
