I have a p5ad2 premium motherboard and a hyper 48 heatsink.the fan that came w the hs is a 3 pin connection and i have a 4 pin connection on my mb.I know that the 4th mb pin is for pwm control but the fan that came with my hs doesnt have the pwm ability.I have seen from diff manufacturers that they offer "temp controlled(smart fans)"but they only have a molex connection for direct power from ps and a rpm wire to mobo.I assume they have a built in thermistor in the fan but i want a fan that is controlled by the 4th pin on my mobo and the power from my mobo also.Maybe im lookin at this wrong,but i havent found anywhere or any fan (unless on a hs)that i could use to let the cpu temp sensor control the rpm of the fan through pwm(4th pin).Was curious to that if i did find a fan to replace the current hs fan where could i set a setpoint i wanted to maintain for a cpu temp?I use asus probe to moonitor and set threshholds,but havent messed w lookin in bios(wouldnt think it would be there?If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated,im tired of looking online,seems someone would have ran into this b4 or maybe i wasnt lookin in the right place.thanks again.
