Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif
You need an add-on card or USB attachment that include a personal video recorder... Most of those come with the software to do it... I have been looking at attachments and they run up to $300, but a decent one can be found for about $100... The add-on cards are usually a bit cheaper...
thanks i'll check it out and see if it works... Apart from that anymore suggestions ?

I have a couple. I've never tried any of the external versions of this product, in fact I only have one version. If I were you I'd go check out this:

I have the cheaper one so I don't know what this one will do but it works great for me.
You can also go out and look at the entire list:

This is all for just TVTuners. Last night I was looking at reviews for the All In Wonder cards and it looks like they come with all the PVR equipment including clicker and all the cables to record your tv shows. I really don't know too much about these cards and you would be spending at least a $100,
If someone would like to clear up what is the diff btw the TVTuner cards and an ATI All In Wonder, that would help him cuz I don't know much about those
Thank

There are a number of options that include a TV tuner... You need to look for the personal video recorder option to get the ability to record what you view... I think that is done with software, however, so you could probably buy the software for the card you already have....
thanks guys your suggestions,(links) they bring much light.

^ That's what I use, you need dual sided composite cables to run from your TV to the ATI device, for better quality use an s-video wire if your tv has one, and you need USB 2.0 but if you have a fairly new computer you shouldn't have to worry about that to much but check the device manager just incase. The one thing I can honestly say I don't like about it is that sometimes it will randomly tell me I don't have enough bandwidth to run it... I don't know if it's just my computer but it happens sometimes.
I would definatly try it out. thanks chad
