I just finished assembling the parts, but something isn't quite right.

I'm getting no fans, beeps, or bootup. I've reseated everything twice over, stripped down to the basics (gfx card, ram, cpu, and cpu fan) and can't even get a beep for not having a monitor or keyboard/mouse attached. I see the motherboard PS light on, but no other attached devices (the optical drive) appear to function (can't open the tray for the optical drive).

This is what I've got inside:
Intel D915PGN Motherboard (http://www.powerspec.com/systems/system_components.phtml?component=997&selection=BBNP-04)
Pentium 4 505 Prescott CPU (LGA 775)
Gigaram 1 gig DDR 3200
Leadtek Geforce 6600 GT

Also a SATA hard drive, optical drive, floppy, and a spare fan.

Hi Thorpe Welcome to PC Guide,

Build barebones out of the case on the mobo box with just cpu+fan, one stick memory and a graphic card.

Make sure you plug in all power leads to the motherboard - 20/24 pin and the four pin square one (if used), also power up graphic card (if needed).

Does it boot ?

Do you know anyone with the same parts you can try on your mobo including mobo ?

Ahem.. yet another reminder for the casually inept.. double check to make sure things like your 4 socket power connector isn't rotated 90 degrees to the right.

Alright. I've gotten to bios (woot!).

Now the new problem is that it shuts down partway through the memory run through in post. I'm guessing that 4 beeps and the Coolermaster 6 wailing on channel 1 (a thermal probe attached near the processor) that I've a heat issue.
