does anyone knows how does firewire cables work, and ide cables work? and if there is any easy way to create an IDE to FIREWIRE cable

You could buy it for $55USD, then open it up and explore... I have a feeling it's not something you're going to be able to clone youself though. You'll have a nice aluminum case either way...

I would not get the case suggested in the link above. Make sure you get a 5.25" case with a fan. Hard drives run hot and the fan helps with cooling. Also you can do better then $55.00. If you can't, I can.......
