Hi,

I am trying to find a software that will route the line or audio output to the mic input, so i can stream my audio via webcam. It should be a simple thing but i am at a loss as to how to achieve this. I could get a lead and link headphone out to mic input, but i am using that output to my hifi.

I'd prefer to do this via software mixer so i could maybe even mix voice (mic) with background audio.

Any ideas? Cheers.

See http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?C=SEO&U=Srch&Criteria=MIC+MIXER

There are all sorts of possibilities.
I have a splitter so I can split my speaker output from the sound card to both a set of speakers and also a headset.
Have an old 4-input microphone mixer [battery powered amplification] from the 60's that I never use.
You could use a mic mixer to input a mic and also a connection from your line output or speaker output or headphone output on your speakers.
The mixer will have volume balance controls at least.
Do you need tone control also?

thx Sylvander, thats a good idea.

I was hoping there would be a simple software that would route my audio output to the mic line (input) virtually.. and also mixing the stereo to mono.

having an audio (powered) input even at low volume causes the mic line to blast out high volume even at 10% input level. i will consider the investment tho...

That's because the mic input is expecting a very low-level mic feed, not a line feed. There is no way to make the mic in an output, and the best way to do what you need to do is get a simple Y-cable as said ealier. Good luck.
