My computer is going screwy,when i start a program and then try to shut down after use my machine freezes and the only way i can turn it off is by the switch at the back.Also when Ive been on the net and try and shut down I get a blue screen with an error message.
I have a P3 1ghz with windows ME.Could it be the battery I havent changed it for 2 years

Hi, Stephen.
This sound like a heat related problem. How long since you removed the dust from inside your machine? Is the processor fan clogged with dust?
Try removing the side of the case and arrange a desk fan to blow into it. If the trouble stops then a good clean out of the fans both PSU and processor is called for. Air dusters are just the job for that.

The error messages are different each time,I will have a look at the fan.
