Having recently upgraded the pc I have found that the new AGP graphics card has no socket for my joystick to plug into, I assume I now require a USB joystick or is there an alternative adaptor that can be used instead of buying a new stick?
Thanks
Derek

Isn't it the soundcard that has that connector? If your's is onboard, look on the mobo.
If the system has no gameport, then this adapter can get you back in business. But it's not cheap:

Edit: Just noticed that you're from the UK. Don't know if you can get it from this supplier. If not, then just do a Google search with usb gameport adapter.

I will look into it

You're welcome. Good luck in your search.

There are lots of good joysticks out there now using USB. IT depends what sort of games you are going to play as to which you choose, but the more advanced ones tend to be USB now. (Saitek's joystick/throttle combo has been around on USB for a couple of years - I used the old games port version on flight sims and loved it years ago)

My joystick comes with the adapter. I bought it a few years ago, though. It's the Logitech Wingman Extreme. Shop around and see if you can still find a joystick with both. Heck, you can still find mice with both PS/2 and USB! ;)

I'd also say take a ganter @ the mobo. If not i'd honestly consider buying a console pad converter. Playing games on the pC wid the xbox controller feels right (and is alot cheaper than the equivalent usb pad would be)
