I upgraded from a cx4600 to cx6600 because I want more speed. I need some help.

I installed the software, then connected the USB cable per the instructions. When I installed the cable, a note came up- I assume from Windows- saying the USB port is not a high speed port and will slow down the printer. Does anybody know if that is true and what can be done about it? Becuase when I print in the "text and image" quality mode, the machine prints at the same speed as my cx4600 did in "text and image", which is disappointing.

Also, I print some small .jpg graphics at the bottom of a page, close to the edge of paper. When I do this in "text" quality, a little slice of the image is not printed. But the image prints fine in "text and image" quality. No other image is effected in text mode.

Thanks

That printer is designed with USB 2.0(480 mbs), and your system may have only USB 1.1(12 mbs).
You can check which USB you're using by going to Device Manager. If it says 'Enhanced' for USB, then it's USB 2.0.
If there's no 'Enhanced', then it's USB 1.1., and this is what's caused the message during installation, and causing the slow performance. You can work around this by installing a USB PCI controller card, and connect the printer to it.
