I bought a new a4tech pk-635 webcam.

the problem is, it crashes randomly. I need to start windows in safe mode and remove the hardware then let windows reinstall the driver.

BTW, I had a kensington video cam works before.

This is what i've done so far
1 I uninstalled Kensington Video Cam works. then remove the
2 hardware(kensington camera).
3 Run Registry Mechanic and repair all errors.
4 Install a4tech.

but still the same problem.

system specs:
Windows 98Se
AMD 700Mhz
128MB Ram (PC100)
16Mb Video

I emailed a4tech tech support and this is what they told me

Dear friend ,

Thanks for your message.

Please test your Webcam and its driver on other computers with various
CPU devices to
verify if your current computer CPU is compatible with your Webcam
driver, if not ,please
swap a compatible cpu for your computer motherboard to match your
Webcam driver.

Thanks in advance and awaiting your promptest response.

Regards,
George

I'm planning of upgrading to WinXp. and I plan of posting results here first before them :D :D

I have upgraded to Windows Xp and I'm not experiencing any problems so far. Maybe there's something wrong with 98SE.

thanks ski, exit63 for your replies.
