After spending as much time as I could trying to get a Xerox WorkCentre XK35c working on this computer with XP Pro and SP2, I upgraded to the Xerox XK50cx which is supposedly compatible with Win XP. (Both WorkCentres were given to me, so at least I'm not out any money.)

I found both printer and scanner drivers on the Xerox website, downloaded both and the printer software installs fine. When I attempt to do the same with the scanner software, WinZip Self-Extractor launches to open the file (XP_XK50S.exe) and just sits there. File don't actually install; I just get the self-extractor window with no further activity. The system doesn't freeze up, it just sits there until I cancel setup. I tried right cliking and Open instead of double-clicking, I deleted and re-downloaded the file, and anything else I could think of. Nothing. Any suggestions?

See if this one works:

And FWIW, here's the Xerox driver installation instructions: http://www.support.xerox.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=16,E=0000000000006179888,K=3512,Sxi=0,Case=obj (1380)

I just now downloaded file XP_XK50S.exe and unpacked the contents [using free "UltimateZip" and "Extract to here"] on my Win98SE system as shown below.
Got the file here http://tinyurl.com/5k8cr
