First post:

I have a Dell Dimension 4400, running Windows XP. It has a PS2 keyboard (SK-8100) all i want to do is convert it over to a USB keyboard. I could buy a keyboard adapter and I could even buy a newer keyboard, but I would prefer to buy the USB keyboard that essentailly replaced this one (probably back in late 2002). In playing around with my search i've come up with the SK-8125 or the RT7D10 (the latter has a PS2 version that LOOKS exactly like mine...but I shouldn't base it on LOOKS i know). Without spending a lot i'm hoping to just pick one off of eBay. Any help is appreciated!

You can pick up any keyboard you like, USB, PS/2 and it will work just fine with your system. If you like the way it looks, or feels, or whatever then buy it. Unless you have some really specific desire to keep the same exact keyboard Dell shipped I wouldn't waste my energy trying to find it.

BTW, why the desire for a USB keyboard? PS/2 still works just fine, and keeps an extra USB slot free for other devices that need it.

I'm considering a Mac mini for the kids and would like to run both off of my existing keboard and mouse, but it looks like all of the KVM setups use USB or PS2, but I can't find a mixed KVM.

I don't know what kind of inputs Macs have as I basically never deal with them. If they can take a standard PS/2 and work from a KVM I would recommend using the PS/2 keyboard and mouse. I have dealt with a lot of different KVM switches, and have never had problems with the PS/2 ones, but the USB ones I have. I am talking KVM switches that cost over $100 and they wouldn't work too well using both a keyboard and mouse, so we needed to seyp the KVM to share only the keyboard.
