I was wandering if there is any way to send faxes threw a wireless internet connection.
I have a scanner (HP Lexmark ) thats also a fax and a photocopy machine but I don't know if i can send faxes threw that,it doesn't connect to a phone jacket and my phone connection doesn't have long distance so the only way left i guess is sending them threw my internet connection.
Well I can go to Kinkos but its kind of price there and I am broke , so ....
I would appreciate some helpful answers.
A million Thanks.

I believe you need to be able to dial up a phone number in order to fax. If the person has an email addy and will allow attachments, you can scan and email as an attachement.
There's fax software that usually comes with a scanner, or fax modem that can convert a document to a fax and use your computer to send via the modem...but you're still dialing up a phone number.
Others may know differently...
There are Web/email to fax services...they run from about $8 to $20 per month. Some charge extra for incoming or sending over a certain number of pages per month.
Generally, you can pick up a cheap calling card and use it to do you faxing over the phone (even without long distance service). If you don't do much faxing this is often the cheapest route...

On most all-in-one printers there are usually two phone jacks on the back...one is a line-in, and the other is for an actual telephone. I'd check your owner's manual...
Yep, the calling card is great...I've used one myself to fax long distance. A little secret I've used... I would put the 800 number into the first speed dial position and then the pin # into the second position. Just press away and never have to enter all the stuff in but once... ;)

You would think that "Fax Over IP (http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9002627)" would have come in along with "Voice Over IP" but it seems to be slow to catch on perhaps because Faxes generally are becoming less common. Skype don't yet provide Fax Over IP but I wouldnt put it past them to introduce it as soon as anyone.
