I got a HP laserjet 6L printer and the problem is that when i wanna print something instead of printing what i want it just prints millions of stacked webdings and wingdings.
i tired printing with another computer because i thought it was some kind of virus and the same thing happened with the other computer its started printing millions of stacked webdings and wingdings.
coul anyone please tell me why is this happening?
A good starting point is here with the manuals
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?redirectReason=DocIndexPDF&prodSeriesId=25476&targetPage=http%3A%2F%2Fh20000.www2.hp.com%2Fbc%2F docs%2Fsupport%2FSupportManual%2Fbpl03394%2Fbpl033 94.pdf
Make sure any and ALL dip switches are set correctly ( If it has any )
Second make sure the cables are in good order as well as the port it is connected to
Make sure the correct driver is used..

JeanSlone,
Here is a great Tech Support Community Website that has a a lot of information about HP printers,
Posting a beta site link for help is more likely spam than good advice, so the "Fixya" link has been "fixed".

If you just purchased a new hp printer than hp will provide a answer asap, usually in 2 business days, good luck...

Hi PrntRhd.
I have never noticed that Fixya is still beta. I have used them for more than a year now and they have a lot of products, users and experts. I am sorry you didn't find it appropriate but I really thought he could find an answer there...
Sorry...

Thanks for the explanation JeanSloan,
I did not mean to come across as unfriendly but our forums get hit all the time by spammers who register just to post links to their promotions on their first posts, so the moderators are sometimes quick to neuter links. The link http://www.fixya.com/support/p378821-hp_laserjet_6l_printer did not give a direct answer to the OPs problem, but he may have found help via that site's "ask an expert" link.
We do welcome constructive help.
Welcome!

hi yo
i recently replaced the paper pickup roller, but now the printer only tries to print 2 pages, which both get stuck in the middle - first one comes out half way from the bottom and the second one gets stuck on top...
it does take pages now atleast - it didnt do it at all before the replacement.
is the solenoid gear-wheel somehow mis-aligned or something?:s the service manual didnt say anything about putting the damn thing back into the system :(

You've posted into a 3 year old thread. I would suggest starting your own thread with this problem. It is confusing and considered bad form to piggyback a problem onto someone else's thread...

i thought i would not spam the forum with millions of threads

Posting a legitimate problem is not spamming and we are only talking about beginning one thread to address your problem...not millions. ;)
