Just got back from the in-laws due to a worried "power outage, no input signal" conversation which turned out to be the computer being not turned on, when I was asked If an Apple stylewriter II could be used on PC. I didn't have an answer but looked at the cable with it and it is the 8 pin mini female type with only one of those ports present on the unit itself. The desktop in question has a female printer port, usb and serial. I have looked but couldn't find any sort of converter? If anyone has any ideas that would be great, as my last hope is to rumage through the computer box, ok room for a solution.:D

I don't think a printer of that vintage will work unless you can find a driver and it has a parallel port connection.

Under Windows 2000 there is no driver for any Stylewriter printer....

Apple StyleWriter II?? Holy $#^&!!! I thought that thing died with Mac OS 8! :p

Seriously, though, don't even try it. Without that Apple DIN port and without AppleTalk...

Yeah... Don't even try it.

I did offer her my old bubblejet 200 which I guessed was a similar type printer. I think finding a driver would be the 'easy' part. Without a parallel port the stylewriter may have to join the macintosh in the front garden. :(
